The 'Wilderness' is possibly one of the most unique "tropical" resorts anywhere. It is located at Lalakhal, nestled at the base of the Jaintai Hills of the Indian State of Meghalaya, the last foothills of the mighty Himalayas. Lalakhal was once a part of the ancient Khasia Kingdom of Jaintapur, a portion of which, today is Jaintapur Upazilla of Bangladesh.

The resort is in a spectacular location where a mountain river with emerald, green water, lush green forests, blue skies and cloud-adorned mountains all come together. One gets panoramic views of mountains, river, hills and forest stretching as far as the eye can see. The privacy, tranquillity and the sheer quietness, where the only sound you are likely to hear is the call of the birds, make 'Wilderness' not just a resort, but a sanctuary.
The resort is spread over several closely grouped buildings and is centered around a blue infinity edge swimming pool and wooden pool deck. The surrounding hills and valleys are landscaped with fruit trees and flower gardens and are home to a variety of tropical birds. Walking and trekking trails, outdoor sitting areas, observation lounges and large water ponds give guests a sense of serenity in its purest form.
ROOMS & SUITES
Wilderness has four residential buildings (Nest, Chalet, Lodge & Tree Top) with four types of rooms. All the rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished with world class Posturepedic mattress of single, king or super-king size configuration. The bathrooms are luxurious with separate glass enclosed rain showers. All rooms have air conditioning, hot and cold water, colour TV with satellite dish connections, telephone, hairdryer, 24 hours electricity backup including air conditioning.
